Hydraulic pump cut off while extending & retracting slides & & leveling

2015 Momentum 385th, have replaced the battery but it does not seem to charge up enough from the shore power to retract the slides and feet after stays of 2 weeks or longer. Trying to determine if I have an inverter, hydraulic pump, or other issue.

Welcome to the forum Heflin. My first suggestion would be to check the converter to make sure that it is providing adequate charge voltage for the battery.

    1. With the trailer unplugged from shore power and all electrical items such as the refrigerator and lights, use a volt meter to check your battery voltage. A fully charged battery will read 12.6 volts or more.

    2. Then plug your trailer into shore power and check your battery voltage again. If it is not reading 13.3 volts or more, you likely have a converter problem.

Here are some things to check for your converter.
    A. Circuit breaker turned on.
    B. Shore power working
    C. Fuses on side of converter have not blown.

If the converter is not working, it will have to be replaced. In the mean time you can charge the battery with an external battery charger until you get enough voltage to operate the slides.

Also, be certain you battery disconnect switch is not turned off.

Jim, was that a double negative, I am so confused. If you turn a "disconnect" switch on does that mean it disconnects, or if you turn it off does that mean the battery is turned off?

My first check would be the circuit breaker to the converter. Mine will trip sometimes when I first plug the RV into the pedestal and apply power.

May I suggest not thinking of the switch as a disconnect, though that is what it does? The switch is an on/off switch similar to a light switch. Both allow electricity to flow in the on position.

    Another tit-bit of info.

On the "Level Up" controller you can check the battery voltage. With or without the disconnect switch on.

I believe that we have the same problem. When retracting the slide-outs or the leveling gear it will go part way and then stop and we have to wait about 30-40 seconds and push the button again and it will go part way again then it just stops again. This happens with the hydraulic, opposing slides as well as the schwintec slides. I have 13.6-13.7 v at the batteries.

This sounds like the auto-reset breakers in the basement could be going bad or malfunctioning.

If you do a search on this forum, you should find plenty of information reference this issue with the breakers tripping. It is a common problem.
