    Exclamation Tires losing nitrogen!

We left for our shakedown trip with all tires @ 90 psi of nitrogen. Our monitoring system kept track of the pressure for the 6 hour trip. One week later as we were leaving for home the monitoring system alerted us that a passenger side tire had lost 14 psi of nitrogen. Our only option was to fill with air.

The other passenger side tire had lost nitrogen also but not as much. The 2 drivers side tires were at 90 psi. The trip home was uneventful with all tires remaining above the low pressure setting.

Five days later 3 of the tires were below the low pressure limit and the remaining tire was just above the limit.

Tudee is in our local repair shop for issues discovered during our shakedown trip. They will be checking the tires for leaks but it's doubtful that all of them have stem valve leaks or just general leaks.... maybe issues with the rims?

    Anyone else having tire problems?????

You have load range E tires so the maximum cold inflation pressure should be 80 psi. It's surprising how different the tire pressure can be when the temperature changes between cold nights and warm, sunny days. I've seen then gain 15 psi during the day. With brand new tires and wheels you shouldn't have any issues with leaks at the bead. Are your tire pressure sensors screwed onto the valve stems like an TST system. You should look for leaks at the tire valve and sensor using a soap solution. Don't waste your money looking for nitrogen tire filling...just use regular compressed air. You could also you the soapy solution to find any leaks in the tread area or sidewalls.

    Hi Dave
We just took our reflection on a short trip. Started out with good pressure on all four, soon noticed passenger rear was at 30 filled it up to 65 drove on and couple days later noticed it was down to 30 again.
I am having my dealer check it out Tuesday

The air we breathe is 78% nitro anyways, so unless you're flying a plane or driving a race car it probably doesn't matter to much. The air pressure in a tire will go up by 3 to 4 pounds from driving due to expansion from it getting hot.

When we picked Tudee up at the dealer's lot we were told the tires were inflated to 90 psi with nitrogen (green cap on the stem). Our pressure monitors screw onto the valve stem and showed 90 psi.

I agree that it's normal for tire air pressure to increase as the tire is heated from friction but they shouldn't drop below the cold pressure reading after they've cooled down. A nitrogen filled tire should maintain a stable cold pressure value but our tires lost about +/-10% of the nitrogen.

Tudee's in our local repair facility and they will be looking to find an answer to this problem.
