Bedroom TV mount
Anyone know what the bedroom TV mount looks like? I see the outline of the medal plate in my new 27RL but can't really tell how wide and thick it is. Would love to see a picture of it out of the wall.
Thanks in advance.

The TV mount “backer” is a very thin piece of sheet metal bonded to the back of the 3/16” wall board. It’s purpose is to help coarse thread sheet metal screws get sufficient bite to hold the mount anywhere within the metal square. You can find the actual edges with a small magnet. A rare earth magnetic disc works well.

What's the max length of the sheet metal screw that can be used? On some models the plate sits on one of the exterior walls. You wouldn't want to use too long of a screw and have it penetrate the outside sheet of fiberglass. And how heavy of a tv and mount can that plate withstand?

Grand design told me to use #8 or #10 that sticks out no more than 3/4” past the back of the bracket.

I used the MORryde mount for our 24" based on Rob's recommendation and photos. The plate in the wall is pretty large and it's easy to find the borders with magnets. I used #12x3/4 screws because that is what I had a pack of and they fit the holes in the bracket almost perfectly. Be sure and predrill pilot holes. The mount has a travel lock and is well made. I have attached some pics for you.

This MORryde mount has a 50 lb capacity and can extend 18" out. It would allow for a bigger television.

[MORryde TV1-025H Extending Swivel TV Wall Mount - Small] is the mount I used. You could go a little bigger than our 24 but I wanted a smart tv (internet) and the next one up was a 32 and it wouldn't fit. Too little clearance at the ceiling and valance when locked. I could just see it digging into one or both as we went down the road. Even though this mount is very solid...it's gonna move a little on bumps I am sure.
