    Awning issue

When I open my awning and it gets about 1 foot out the front arm suddenly pops out away from the wall then runs out fine, It is not binding up, none of the others do this. Is this a bad piston arm(or what ever they call it) or something else?

Mine has always done this also. Figure it is normal. Scared the heck out of my wife the first few times. We have he 297RSTS, and a “Dometic” awning, 21 feet long I believe. It will be interesting to see who else responds with what answers.

Mine started to roll up unevenly also. While it was extended, I got on a ladder and pulled the trailer side of the awning one way or the other in the channel to even it out. Had to roll in in a couple of times and make minor adjustments until it was corrected. It stayed even for the most part. I will likely check and adjust as necessary before our next trip.

We have an 18 ft awning that one side "pops" out when starting to deploy. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything.

On our old TT the awning (manual) pulled out smothly UNTIL it started to roll up unevenly. As soon as that happened I would have to go back to the back bracket and give that pull when pulling the awning out, when putting the awning in I'd have to go back to the same bracket and give it a little push so it would completely pull in.

Rain, how does the forum community deal with rainwater run off? I have developed a unique gutter system but I don't know if it's something anyone sees a value in. For me it's great, no more water poring over the front edge, splashing all over and making a mess. I'd like to hear your opinions and answer any questions you may have of my system.

    Thank you,

    Paul
