Lube plate and Turning Point pin box

I've been assured by the folks at Lippert that their Whisper Disc lube plate can be used with the Turning Point pin box when the wedge is installed. Has anyone tried this -- or for that matter has anyone used any sort of lube plate with the Turning Point box? I'd love to get away from using grease on the hitch.

Along that vein how do you choose between the 10" and 12" lube plate?

    I have a B&W Companion. B&W offers a 10" plate, so I went with 10".

Dealer put a lube plate on as part of the delivery. I have the pin in normal locked mode (no pivot at trailer). Dealer also provided a 110 adapter to plug into a standard outlet, and a new sewer hose.

You can check your manual (or search for it on line) that came with your specific hitch. My Reese 16K hitch manual stated, "Plastic lube plates can be used to avoid messy grease. The plastic lube plate must not exceed 3/16 of an inch in thickness to ensure hitch will operate properly. Lube plates must be 10 inches in diameter or larger to properly distribute king pin weight."

I bought a 10" lube plate, 3/16" thickness, 2 days ago at Lazydays in Tampa for about $10.

And the wedge on the pin box doesn't interfere with the lube plate?

Just mark and notch the lube plate around the wedge. You never use that portion of the lube plate anyhow, or take the lube plate off all together as there is no need for it as there is now no movement between the king pin plate and 5th wheel.
