Intend to get the Caterpillar oil tomorrow...supposed to remove some before adding. Lippert sent instructions when we did it on our last one. I don't understand why if it apparently has been a problem for years (our 2011 had the popping), why they don't put the Caterpillar oil in to begin with. Would save a lot of grief.

When we first got our Solitude I did the same thing. Went down to Home Depot, got a pressure treated 2X12 and made six pads for the leveling jacks/legs. I haven't noticed any loud popping and haven't added any of the Cat Oil. Either I don't have the popping problem or the leveling pads made the difference.

While studying the Lippert booklet, did everyone notice how often you are supposed to do preventative maintenance? "If jacks are down for extended periods, it is recommended to spray exposed leveling jack rods with a silicone lubricant every seven days for protection. If your coach is located in a salty environment, it is recommended to spray the rods every 2-3 days." Not sure how long extended periods are.....

Picked up our 369RL 7/11/14 and noticed popping about every 1-2 minutes while parked I our driveway. Also the front jacks were very noisy when extending and retracting. After soaking them down with silicone lube and running them in and out 2-3 times they are now quite and no more popping so far.

We just purchased a 379FL about a month ago, and I've noticed a popping/flexing type noise coming from the axle/leveling area (best I can figure) if the camper is "jiggled" just right. It doesn't do it every time you walk thru the kitchen area. Sometimes you can turn over in bed, or move in the recliner, or walk thru the dining/kitchen area.... Is this the popping everyone is talking about or is yalls a consistent popping?

Yes that's the noise - occasional popping - hate the one at night when you turn over - put the jacks on pads and get the other oil....much, much better! It seems worse when there is a more dramatic temperature change too - so as it gets colder it will get worse.

Thanks!! I've talked to our dealer about a road call to look at a couple other things & hopefully they can fix this issue as well.

Just as an update, since soaking the shafts down with silicon spray in July and a spray and wipe each time before retracting we haven't had any popping since the initial issue.
I haven't used any pads yet either.

We added a quart of the Cat fluid in our jacks, now it does not pop but we can feel the trailer move where it will drop a little and jerk! Very annoying!

    Thank you Trijart and Janice!
I will try that and see if my popping stops.
