Mike,
If I could change my axle ratio for $1,200 I would do it.
I am going to shop with local shops who can handle changing the rear axle for pricing so I can make a decision.
I do have an exhaust brake and air bags.
I just have to determine if the cost of changing the axle to get to GCVR OF 23,000 is worth it. Since I only have
57,000 miles on my 2007 I am inclined to make it work within the best technicals I can do.
Best Regards,
Sam

Just ordered a Momentum 380TH. We'll be hauling our 2012 Honda Goldwing in it. We retire the end of July and will be ready to hit the road!
TV is a 2014 F350 6.7L 4x4 DRW with 3.73, so I think I have plenty of truck.

Mike,
Checked with reputable local shop and was quoted $1,450 to change the axle. I am leaning towards doing it.

I towed my 385Th once with my 2006 cummins manual dually. I promptly bought a 2011 Silverado Duramax and have not looked back, went from a 15600 tow cap to a 21000 and it shows in the brakes, the suspension, and the power. I had air bags on the Dodge, and I put them on the Chevy also, the ride is so much better when you get those overload springs off their brackets. I need to weigh my new setup, as you can see my weights in a few post back with the Dodge, and it seems like the more I use the camper, the more stuff I remove If I don't need it I get rid of it, saves space and weight!!

Found another car that would fit in the 355/385TH, questionable with the 380TH, other than the Smartcar and that's the Scion IQ. It has more space since it's a bit longer.
Here are the basics:
- Exterior Length 120.1" exterior length
- Exterior Width 66.1" exterior body width
- Exterior Height 59.1" exterior height
- Curb Weight 2,127 lbs.
- Gross Vehicle Weight 2,800 lbs
As you can see it may not work with the 380TH since the Garage it's only 122" which does not leave a lot of wiggle room before you hit the sliding glass doors and the patio rails when folded. If only the 380 would have been 42' 9", the same as the 385TH, and not 42' 2" there would have been plenty of room. That was one of the reasons I put together my hybrid of the 385/380TH was hopping that GD would come up with something to get more garage length and keep what I think is the better layout of the 380TH when you don't need the half bath.
As long as the IQ is empty when you load and tow it should be fine for the Garage which I believe is rated at 2,500 lbs and the ramp 3,000 lbs. Personally I'd use a couple of loading ramps to take the weight off the door just because. Still you loose 300 lbs over the Smartcar which puts you at only about 1,750 of cargo. With the 380TH you would get back about 200 lbs but I'd be worried about breaking the sliding glass doors if the IQ just wiggled wrong during transit or while loading.
Sure wish the Momentum had the same hold downs as the Fuzion and Raptor but I understand Keystone RV has a patent on the welded hold downs
For us since nothing is going to happen till after the 1st of the year we should be able to get a 2012 or 2013 coming off lease that has low miles. Without paying the "Drive off the Lot" charge for a new one.
