Is it still the best practice to ask the campground if they except mail for the campers and get it sent there?

    Thanks, KEN
We do, and also confirm their mailing address. Worked for us for almost 7 years.

I always ask first and never assume it's ok. The other thing you need to be clear about getting "mail" vs receiving "Packages". Receiving mail implies you are going to get your mail forwarded to them, this would include the junk mail. They hate that. Our mail service does a good job of screening junk mail out. Then, when the mail accumulates a bit I have it forwarded as a "package" to my location.

We use General Delivery all the time. Thanks for the heads up on big cities and General Delivery. We have only used small Post Offices.

I would recommend always calling the Post Office you are going to send General Delivery to since some Post Offices do not accept General Delivery and for the ones that do, procedures and pickup times vary.

We use general delivery at small town post office. It gives us a reason to get out and go some where, maybe have lunch in town.

    Thanks Dallas
We are planning on "moving to my brother's apt" and he will screen and ship a package of mail.

Which is better? USPS or UPS ???

Thanks everyone else for the answers. It seems it was good to wake up this info. KEN
