We ended up with an Equil-i-zer 1,200/12,000-lb. hitch to pull our new Imagine 2800BH. Even though the hitch weight is advertised as only 575-lbs., several forum members have reported much higher actual hitch weights, and I wanted to make sure we were safe up to 15% of the trailer's GVWR (15% x 7,595-lbs. = 1,139-lbs.). This dealer sells a lot of Equal-i-zer hitches, so the service guys are familiar with this hitch and did good with the initial set-up. After visiting the CAT scale, I think I'll have them make a minor adjustment of the weight distribution to move just a little more weight up to the truck's front axle. We've only gone on one weekend camping trip with the new trailer so far, but didn't have any sway problems related to passing traffic or driving up/down a mountain. I applied lube at the friction surfaces of the hitch head as suggested by the manufacturer, and I'll be purchasing some of the nylon sway bracket jackets soon to help with creaking/groaning noise when driving through the campground.

Joe, On our Equalizer, the dealer set it up with the standard 4 washers on the head stud. I found when measuring the front fender gap as described in the hitch manual 6 washers were better for our specific rig at moving more weight to the front axle and applying more down force to the RV tongue "L" brackets giving more sway control. I carry a little container of hitch grease to apply to the hitch when needed which greatly reduces the creaking noise. I also carry a 3/4 inch break bar torque wrench and the appropriate sockets to check all the nuts on the hitch head, ball and "L" brackets on the RV. They have never come loose.

I also use the Blue Ox to tow our 315RLTS. Very satisfied. Had the 10,000 lb Equalizer with our previous trailer. Also a very good hitch. Between the two, I prefer the Blue Ox.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for your comments, sounds like “Blue Ox” or “Equalizer” are the ones most common across the board! I will probably end up with one of those two as I prefer to listen to those who have gone before me! I appreciate your help!

Based on comments we found in this forum, we bought the Blue Ox Swaypro 1000S for our 2800BH. We got the S model because it had a longer shank and we have a gas 2017 F-250 with the FX4 off-road package.

By any chance have you obtained your the tongue weight of your 2800BH when loaded for the road? On our Reflection 297RSTS, it's much heavier than I would have ever guessed. Around 1,500# when fully loaded.

Our2500 is 920 and I kind of wish I would have gone with 1500# bars. They work but are at Max tension so they can be a little tough to get off

The nice thing about Blue Ox is that you can purchase just the spring bars. Amazon carries the 1,500 bars for $263.38.

Wish they were closer to 150max. For 260 I'll just keep the 1000#ers since they work and are within specs.

*Edit* removed comment about price of entire hitch since it was inaccurate. Actual price paid through amazon for entire hitch was $510. So, 260 for bars is about half the cost if you already have the shank
