My measured weights on 310GK
We picked up our 2018 Solitude 310GK (RV refrigerator) and on the way home from dealer weighed the truck (listed in sig below) and trailer at a CAT scales. Trailer was as delivered. Besides the full (60#) propane tanks and single battery (51#) we had 44 gallons of water (366#, mostly in the fresh water tank). Vs. the factory exit weigh, I estimate this added about 72# to the pin weight. Build date 2/2018. Queen bed. No options.
The truck (2017 F350 SRW LB CC 6.7L 4x4 Lariat 5th wheel prep) had full tanks (48 gal diesel + 7 gal DEF), Driver and navigator, Bak MX4 tonneau cover (folded flat in front of bed 75#), BW Companion hitch (non-slider 134#, set to rearward position (1” in front of rear axle)), 50# “stuff” in back seat. This is my best guess at our “ready to tow” setup.

* Factory weight sheet listed left side at 5,272#, right 4,592#, pin 2,422# and total (sum of the three) 12,286#
+ Factory listed pin weight of 2,422#
Some of the weight difference between factory and our weight could be a change in the amount of water in the unit (plus the propane & battery). I do not understand the difference in pin weight, but it could be partially due to different distribution of water in the tanks (black & gray add to pin weight, fresh removes pin weight).
With the trailer, the truck squat ~3” in the rear and no change in front height.
Also, my measured height (to top of front A/C shroud) is 13’ 4-1/2” when hooked up (trailer nose slightly high 1-1/2” from level)
Again, these trailer weights are as delivered. Not ready to camp! I know they will all get heavier. I put these numbers out there just for reference. If you have any questions, please ask. I will do my best to answer them.
Good luck
Chris
PS Just for completeness the truck weight ratings are
front axle weight rating is 5,990# (750# margin)
rear axle weight rating is 7,230# (1,150# margin)
GVWR 11,500# (180# margin ).
GCWR 27,800# (6,260# margin)
Please do not turn this into a discussion of what is legal or what margins I should have.Last edited by CoChris; 06-26-2018 at 09:52 PM. Reason: Corrected GCW margin

Thanks for the info. When I first weighted the trailer empty I thought I had enough truck but once we got it loaded up I quickly came to the conclusion I was wrong last trip I hit the scales again and rear axle was at 7140# but my GAWR is 7000# and just am not comfortable being over. So going to go look at DRW truck's tonight with the wife want a F450 but maybe hard to find this late in the model year, was told that less than 5% of Super duties built are 450's. Guess the saying of buy the trailer first has some merit.

Terry, Thank you for the numbers. I know these are empty weights, but match up to mine fairly well. Now I need to get loaded weights and see where I am really at. Unfortunately, looks like that will not be until June.
David, Good luck on you r truck hunt. I do not know if you are looking at new or used, but these new trucks are incredible (including the price!). A huge improvement in every way (power, capacity, ride/comfort, etc.) over my '95 one ton. Looking forward to getting out and camping.

Pick up the new truck Friday. Was surprised by what I got as a trade. First stop will be the scales to get base weights on the truck.

Hi,
Wondering if I can safely pull any solitude with my F-350 SRW 11,000 lb upgrade and 5th prep? I like the 384 GK and the 375 RES. Is this a pipe dream?
Thanks,
Rick

Hello Rick and welcome to the forums.
In short **I** would say no you can not safely pull the larger Solitudes with a SRW truck. There are may good discussions on the forums about his topic. There is even a specific subgroup titled "Can I safely pull _____" at https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...-pull-a-______ Also, you can use the search function in the upper right corner.
I would like to keep this thread specifically on the 310GK. This is the smallest & lightest of the current Solitude trailers.
That being said, in brief (for me anyway ) for a 5er, most tow vehicles (TV) are limited by their payload capacity (printed on a sticker on the drivers door jamb). The three questions you need to answer to determine if you can pull a specific trailer is 1) What is the payload capacity of YOUR truck (each truck is different) 2) What will be the TOTAL payload on the truck with your trailer, remember this includes EVERYTHING you put in the truck like people, hitch, bed cover, tools, firewood, etc. and of course the pin weight of the trailer (a very rough estimate is 20 to 25% of trailers GVWR - for the 384 & 373 with a GVWR of 16,800# that is 3,360~4,200#) and the big question is 3) what safety margins are YOU personally comfortable with (over/unloading your truck). There a re a lot more details and opinions in matching tow vehicle and trailer, but in my opinion these are the main points. For more discussions, please start a new thread.
Good luck and enjoy whichever trailer you get.
