That site looks great. I am curious how the bikes did on that long trip. What bike rack are you using and which bumper attachment did you go with. I know that Janice recommended one in another thread, is that the one you used?
Thanks in advance.

Looks like a great place for a few relaxing days! How odd that you should have LG issues, last time we were out you got me pointed in the right direction when my LG went out. It seems to me (EE) after looking at the whole system it's not designed sufficiently for the task. I hope you have a great and safe remainder of your trip. We are leaving again this Sunday for Sequoia National Forest.

It a Swagman 3 bike carrier though I only ever had 2 bikes on it. I had this on our last camper...a Rockwood 5ver for 4 years of camping and had no issues. I think the bumper construction and attachment is much better on the Reflection than the old camper so I not worried. Just to note, the carrier is locked into the receiver with 2 lock nuts so there's no movement/flexing of the carrier with the bikes mounted. It's what I've done...your mileage may vary!

We were really enjoying our site here until we had 2 days of heavy rain and the river rose to 12 feet over it's normal level...we got a little nervous and moved to a site on higher ground.

The river crested about 1/2 a foot higher than the photos show...level is slowly dropping back to normal. No kayaking in it for a while!

We arrived May 21st at Grindstone CG which is in the Mt. Rogers Nat’l Rec Area and part of the Jefferson Nat’l Forest in Virginia near Marion. It’s a very nice campground...very clean and friendly hosts. The site we had chosen online was a little difficult to get into, but we managed. They’ve had many black bear sightings though we haven’t seen them.
There’s the Virginia Creeper bike trail close by that I rode on along with Vitus...a bit of an uphill grade in one direction, but not too bad. The trail was very busy on the long weekend...like a freeway! We did 8 milesone day but Vitus got a sore foot.
We also went to Grayson Highlands State Park which is close by and did a hike to see the wild ponies that they have there. There’s great hiking in this area as the Appalachian Trail passes through with many access points. Unfortunately our hiking days of that kind of elevation change are over...looking for the flat trails now.
The park is very remote...no cell phone signal or WiFi. We’re here until May 30th...should be much quieter with the weekend people gone. Heading to Lake Powhatan campground near Asheville NC on that day.
We're enjoying ourselves and not experiencing any real issues with the camper.
