Slides gouging floor
We have just bought a new Solitude 369RL. This is our first RV. During our overnight checkout of the unit we noticed that the slides in the living area were gouging and scraping the floor when opened and closed. The dealer is replacing the floor and adjusting the slides. How often does this happen? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks.

Hiya gallacher, and welcome to the forums! I'm so sorry to hear about your problems, but glad the dealer could fix it for you.
No issue here with the slides and floor. Was something under them? Was it just an adjustment issue?
Keep us updated please. This is something that could happen to any of us.Renee & Bill -- Central Louisiana

Thats bad news. Since my Montana is carpeted I guess it could rip but to be honest I am a little worried about the flooring on the incoming trailer. With carpet a little dirt or loose screw might cause a snag but with this floor it seems much more succeptable to damage and not easily repairable. Are they trying to patch it or replacing the whole floor? I would have trouble with a patch. Most could overlook it but I would see it every time. I have a problem I know.

our kitchen slide must have had a small pebble under it, because it left a hole in the floor where it was sitting on the pebble. We have had any other issues with the slides hurting the floor.

The first time we used our trailer I noticed the slide was slightly scuffing the floor. Not bad, but noticeable. Our dealer took care of it by adjusting the slide.

Funny you should mention this, just last night, I was out loading my Momentum for the upcoming weekend and noticed that i have a gouge in the floor from the slide also. I haven't called the dealership yet, but I will.

Just want to add m2c. We have a large lab that love the water, if we would have had carpet it would have to be replaced after our first major trip. He goes into every puddle he can find than it's up the ramp into the trailer. The flooring is the main reason we chose GD.

Here, here Boomer. We have 2 dogs, 1 of which is a 80 lb Labradoodle (Toby). He's more lab than doodle cuz he LOVES the water. Toby and Jack would probably have a blast together. If we had carpet, I'm sure it would be trashed by now. I love the floor in our Solitude. Very durable and easy to clean.
