I can tell you that the TR416 valve stems don't work on our 2018 rims. I just went thru the trouble of removing 2 wheels in 90 degree heat, taking them to the tire shop to find out the valve stems don't fit. Had to put the wheels back on and will have to order the TR428 valve stems.

We just swapped out the original Westlake tires for Goodyear Endurance tires on our Imagine, due to some uneven tread wear that resulted from bent spindles. Our Imagine has 15"x6" LionsHead Cheetah aluminum wheels. We figured this would be a good time to change out the original rubber valve stems for metal ones. Since we weren't sure whether the tire shop would have the correct size metal valve stems on hand, I picked up some Xtra Seal 17-428 bolt-in valve stems from O'Reilly Auto Parts.

We use a TireMinder Smart TPMS to monitor the trailer tires. Since we got this system when we had the original rubber valve stems, we have brass TireMinder transmitters. Now that we have the Xtra Seal metal valve stems, do we need to change to aluminum TireMinder transmitters? If so, then the change to metal valve stems will be about 10X more expensive than we anticipated.

Xtra Seal catalog shows 17-428 to be Chrome Plated Brass.
    I wouldn't think you'd need to change.

"RVs, MotorHomes, 5TH Wheels and Trailers will all have either rubber (brass) or metal (steel, chrome, or nickel) valve stems, all of which work with the TireMinder brass transmitters."
