    Serious leak

Propane gas regulator leaking where the tank switch valve housing is crimped to the regulator body. Tanks turned off. Just another thing to replace.......

    I wonder what's next?

I just one hour ago replaced mine. Apparently this is a common occurrence, I will be buying a spare. I am going to contact GD on Monday to see what I have to do to get my $60 back. We are leaving tomorrow for five days in sequoia NP, I would have been PO'd if this would have happened on the road. I removed the LPG for storage, When I reinstalled them to cool down the refer I smelled propane. Got my windex bottle and sprayed to find the leak right where the switchover valve is crimped to the regulator. This is a very dangerous leak if not found quickly and can lead to a serious fire or explosion you get the picture. I should had a clue that something might have been wrong when during our PDI I noticed that the level indicator was only at half, when I asked the tech if the bottles where only half filled he said that they filled them to the top and that the indicators don't work very well. Well when I turned the bottles on after installing the new regulator the indicator instantly went all the way to green. Hope all goes as we'll with yours as it did with mine.

I'll bet you'll have a response from Janice at Grand Design first thing Monday morning. I hope you realize Grand Design doesn't manufacture all the parts on your coach, but they do stand behind all of them.

    Just saying.

Hi Horst, Marlene & Jack (@Boomer),

No problem reimbursing you the $60. We would like the old regulator back for testing, so please be sure to discuss that when contacting our Customer Service team at (574) 825-9679.

    Best regards,
    ~ Janice

Spoke with Ryan in GD customer service, he told me that a replacement regulator is in the mail. All they want is the defective one back. I think these guys are stating the new standard for customer service which all other manufacturers will have to strive to meet. Thanks Ryan and Grand Design.

I believe i am having the same issue, but not exactly sure if its the 1st stage regulator or the 2nd stage regulator. When I have both tanks hooked up and the regulator turned to just the left tank I am not getting any propane into the system, I move it to the right and Im good to go. After going to the left side I noticed the smell of propane and quickly noticed propane coming from a small hole on the regulator. Is this suppose to occur? as of right now I am only able to get propane from the side near the water connections. If you all can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it since Its starting to get below freezing here. as a side note, I went through both of my 30lbs tanks in just less than 1 week which tells me there is a leak somewhere.

UPDATE Still having issue.... Switched out the regulator on the entrance door side where I had the leak and I don't have a leak now, but I am not able to get any propane into the system from that side. Only the water hook up side works properly. I even took the working tank and tried it on the other side so I know the tanks are good. any suggestions? Stove won't lite either unless the water hook up side propane tank is hooked up.
