Awning Coming Off???

My awning is the same as the photo where the awning is not fully retracted. We took the factory tour yesterday and Clay said they are aware of the thread here. I looked at the Reflection production line and all had the awning arms out about 1 to 2 inches. None of them were snugged up like one would expect. Don't know.

Mine is ok so far but I found 2 stripped/broken screws and most of the others were loose. GD told me that they are using expanding rivets to replace the screws. I will replace the stripped ones before my trip this weekend. GD says that the Rivet has a 1 inch shank , 3/8 inch washer head and you would need to have an 11/64 bit for a good fit.

I have changed all my screws on my awning with Oscar rivets and after 2 week long trips and 500 miles my awning is secure against the outside wall. These rivets mushroom out on the inside. I bought these rivets online at dyersonline.com. Part # 83801. $7.98 for a pack of 10. They are called Dometic 3/16" x1" awning Oscar rivets.
