    Generator Usage

Who out there has used their generator, and if you have what limits do you have when using it? Also do you run the genny with the door open or closed? I ran mine this weekend for less then one hour and it kept kicking out, I was only using one A/C unit.

OK so I tried it again, and I left the door open. I started it let it run a few minutes, then fired up the A/C. Ran it for about 40 minutes. Ran perfect. Now my question is do we always need to run the genny with the door open?

    Hi Korey,

i have run run my generator for several hours with all 3 A/C's running, no issues, door closed. I think at this point I have about 18 hours on my generator, all with the door closed(that is how it is designed to run). The biggest issue with these generators is lack of use from what I have read.

Had a momentum guy camping in front of me at a race lately. He said his gen would trip after trying to start a second AC along with everything else. He had problems plugging in his harley trike. I seen he's only got a 5500 in it. Didn't know if those gen split the curcuit or not. I have a honda 6500is that will tie everything in series. Don't know if the onans are doing that yet.

Big Mike, I wonder if I just did not let the genny 'warm up' before I loaded her up because yesterday it worked great, I only have 2 hours on mine.

That is a possibility. They like to run frequently. Keep us posted if you have any other issues.
