We had a High Pointe microwave in our previous trailer. It died, I checked on a replacement and found it was too expensive for a cheap microwave. I took it out and measured it. Took measurements with me whenever we were out and about and found a unit that would fit for about $50 and installed it. The only modification I had to do was put a small spacer under it so it matched trim height. Worked out perfect for very little hassle.

As John mentioned equivalent size units can be found, so look around. The one in our 220RK is very small, but there appears to be room for a larger one with a bit of trimming. Many home units come with trim strips or they can be gotten so fitment can be easy, especially the wall or under counter mounting ones.

    Hope this helps

I have a High Pointe microwave oven in my RV, in less than 1.5 years, I have had to take the 70lbs oven down, disassemble, replace fuse, reassemble, and re-install. I would not recommend High Pointe ovens. My rating would be 1-star, only because you can’t give zero stars.

On our last trip we tested the Convection portion of our High Point unit, Wife was not happy with the heat distribution of the unit. Consequently, I will soon be measuring our unit and looking for a "Retail" unit that will fit the space (shouldn't be too hard as it looks to be std 30 inch width.

Removing the old unit and installing a new unit will be a simple matter of installing a new back plate and ensuring the mounting holes line up on the new unit.

Before you replace it, are you sure it wasnt operator error? You have to preheat it to properly use it as a convection oven. Once we figured out that part we loved it except for the fact it kept dying. To preheat it, you set it for convection mode and the temp, and if I recall, there are little dashes that appear under the display, once the entire display has dashes under it, it is preheated. We used ours for everything from chicken to cake and cookies once we figured out the preheat part of it.

Yes, it was pre-heated. The problem is that the heat was un-even, some cupcakes were burnt and some were uncooked.

I'd be pretty unhappy with that. We place a stainless steel griddle in our gas oven to distribute the heat, might work in the convection oven. If you do replace it, it's not that hard, just heavy. I did have to replace the wall bracket when I replaced mine since they were a little different.

Were you using the rotating table and round rack or the fixed rectangular rack? We using the round/rotating setup and everything cooks beautifully.
