310 model question

The 310 apparently has replaced the 320X series and has a nice layout. What do the letter designations mean if anything. 310GK vs 310GK-R. I looked at ads for the R and some showed couches in the entire slide that has the dinette and theater seating in the 320 series. Poor pictures though. On the GD sites for Solitude I can't find find that GD makes any claims about differences. The only floor plan pictures shows a basic RL style with dinette, theater seating end couch, and entertainment on street side.

Questions, does the GK have any relevance at all? Does the -R mean anything? I know the number 310 is a "relative" length and their 34'11" an advertised length.

I recently bought a used 320X and while it's in excellent condition and very nice, it's missing some key features I want/need. Dual pane windows and generator come to mind right away. So we've decided to cancel the motorhome sale, 2007 Itasca Horizon that has that and other features, and sell the 320. After this summer's trip we may look again at a 5th wheel that has my required features. The 320, while nice, has some poorly designed features that I believe the 310 addressed. More usable pantry, kitchen counter work space by the stove, etc.

Not sure what "GK" stands for, have wondered myself. The R is residential refrigerator.

The 2018 310GK-R that we have has the 2-person theater seating next to the dinette facing the TV/fireplace. At the rear is a 3-person sofa which folds out into a nice queen-size bed. Wife and I really like the Samsung residential fridge in the "R" model. Maybe the GK means "grand kitchen"?

I suspected the "R" part but a couple of listings of the "R" I viewed online had the dinette replaced with a long sofa. But a poor picture and dark so don't remember what was on the end of the trailer. That arrangement you have is the same as the 320X minus the residential refer. I do like your kitchen counter space vs the 320. Maybe next year I'll go for the 310 and do one more year in the motorhome.

Yeah, but how much less room would there be without that slide? My wife's just happy about the fact that she can access the fridge with the slides in.... and more importantly, the bathroom!!

The culprit is the island and placement of the appliances. Some careful rearranging and resizing of the island would make kitchen/LR area accessible. We travel in our RV, not sit for months, and being able to get to the kitchen for a lunch or even supper if our temporary stay is too tight to extend slides, is important. Apparently something the GD designers didn't consider or care about. In that light, a rear kitchen or rear bath model is completely out of the question.
