Rob, what type of Pex crimper do you suggest. I found 2 types: one that appears to surround the clamp and the other just crimps it from the side.

Great job. I also have a question, I have done one repair and plan to do the whole thing soon, I noticed that there are two pieces of soft blue hose coming and going to the water filter at rather odd angles any suggestions? We have the 300GK-R and a piece of soft blue goes thru the under belly over to the slide and goes in and out with it for the frig ice maker, I'll have to leave that and just keep an eye on it.
    Thanks

Love the write up, very professionally done.

Where did you get the window, excellent idea. I installed a Hughes Auto Former behind the wall and was thinking of putting a window in, but never thought about a sliding window. Really like what you've done.

Bob - There are two different types of Pex clamp rings. One is a solid copper ring that is compressed all the way around. The other is the crimp ring used by GDRV where the tool grabs the side of the ring and crimps that part. Either would work, but I chose to stay with the same side crimp "Oetiker" Pex clamps used throughout the rest of the plumbing.

Hi Rich - My experience is that it is worth tracking down and replacing every piece of that soft hose. Otherwise, you are alway going to be wondering "when will it drip leak or burst?". A PITA to do . . . but, you will sleep better .

Hi Pete - I put in the slider window long before I got into the whole plumbing rebuild. It was a piece of plexiglass that I just happened to have. That's why it is tinted . . . wouldn't have bought tinted plexi just for this . The rails that it slides in are fabricated on the table saw. More about this window at the start of this thread. https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...ght=plexiglass Others have put various opening windows in this wall, but the slider is easy to open with the minimum disruption to stuff stored in the pass through. Using a finger hole rather than a knob means that things don't catch on the slider.

Our neighbor in Florida has a pre Thor drv that came with the sliding glass panel. What else he has I really liked is a manifold system for the water with shut off valves for everything in the trailer all in one spot behind that glass panel.

Thanks for the link. Just read the thread and got picked up two other good ideas = the water alarms and the light in the wire/pipe area connected to the outside blue lights. We're selling out house in about a month and a half and moving into the Solitude full time so I've just added a couple new projects to my get the Solitude set up for full time use list.
