Add-on Fridge Fan - Have you installed one?
Trying to improve cooling on our Dometic fridge. Wifey found an add-on evaporator fan kit from rvcoolingunit.com that velcros to the cooling fins. Looks like it has potential. Do you have any experience with this option before I buy another "great idea" RV improvement that doesn't pan out

We have considered one - mostly to even out the temp inside and prevent produce from freezing if it's in the wrong place. With only 12 cu. ft. total, we decided we didn't want to give up the interior space. We're just more careful about where we put the produce and things are working well for us.

I actually do have experience with a dual fan unit in our 12cf Norcold. It has dual fans and clips to the cooling fins and is maybe 1/2 inch or so thick, takes up very little space. It is hard wired to the fridge and is on when the fridge is on. If boondocking and worried about power usage there is a small toggle on it to turn it off. No batteries to replace. IIRC it draws .2 amp@12v.
Prior to installation we had some things freeze, especially when I was trying to keep ice cream hard. Since installation we haven't had anything freeze in the refer and my ice cream stays hard.
I have remote thermometers in the fridge and freezer so I can monitor temps without opening doors. I'm sure they aren't super accurate but at 31 deg in fridge and 3 or so in the freezer works nicely with no freezing issues.
Not a huge deal but I think it was worth the $30 or so and a little installation time.

Last camp trip we were barely keeping the food area in the safe temps on setting 5 , it was 100 outside sometimes...Here are a few pictures of our set up.... Interesting the top is covered with wood all the way to the cooling fins....I had no idea we had 3 fans and yes you can hear those suckers when they turn on....Was going to look at the above fan for piece of mind.
We tried both AC and Gas
