Don and Dean - Really interesting info in your posts. I wonder if intermittent/poor campground power is causing some of the failures. We will keep our fingers crossed on ours.

BTW Don, that was QUITE a storm Thursday. We had up to 60 mph winds and could not even see our neighbor's house 20' away! We got 2" of rain in about 30 minutes.

    Kay and Dave,

Winds topped 80 MPH here, broke a 12-14 inch limb from my oak tree and promptly deposited it through my roof into my attic. Two new skylights instantly. Have already had them repaired. Insurance won't be out till tomorrow to look at the damage (not any now). The reply concerning the gas supply might be the issue. The refer did not want to light on gas, and check light started flashing. I did turn on stove top, it lit instantly, but refer would not. Took 3 tries to get it to light. Now it is fine, but if it is that touchy, having your refer on auto in case you lose power won't do you much good if you are not right there to catch the check light. As I said, with this light flashing, nothing would work. I have always relied on the auto funtion to go back and forth as needed.

You can add me to the list with this failure. Have a remote thermometer inside and the refrigerator will not go below 49 degrees F even on the gas setting. I can switch it to auto or AC and tried the "Fix" mentioned in this thread with no success. We had about $100 of food that had to be thrown out then headed to the local store to buy a cooler and ice. We are on day six of a thirteen day trip and now I have to buy ice everyday, not happy about this. The check light has not been on at all no matter what setting it is on.

@Jim (campinfool). When you switched to gas mode, did you also turn the temp all the way down? I find that when I'm running on gas, if I turn the temp all the way down (five lights), the temperature in the unit stays right around 32-33 degrees. If I run it with four lights, the temp stays stable at about 35-36 degrees.

BTW, regarding AC power. I use a Progressive Dynamics power unit, and the power that I've used at various campgrounds has been stable and well within the recommended voltage range specified by Atwood. I ran a test a couple of days ago and tried the A/C side again. The temp quickly ramped up to about 50 degrees, even with the temp set to maximum cool. There were no fault lights. I switched back to gas and the unit dropped back down to 34 degrees in about an hour.

I'm in Salt Lake for a few days, so I'll call customer service on Monday to see if there is a chance to get the unit evaluated and repaired.

Well we cut our trip short due to many problems with the camper, awning again, refrigerator quit all together, shower leaking, and the handrail going up the stairs is about to fall off again. I tried everything possible to get the fridge to work but nothing seemed to work, heading to the dealer again. Hopefully the dealer and GD can get some resolve to these issues, getting real tired of making trips to the dealer.

    Hi Jim and Cal (@campinfool),

We apologize for your ongoing issues. Atwood will be contacting you shortly, and they have agreed to work directly with your dealer to resolve the refer issue. Please check your post for our response to the shower leak concerns. We will also work with your dealer on all remaining issues to assure that they are properly addressed on a timely basis.

    Best regards,

Is there anything Atwood can do if I'm on the 7-road until late September? I won't be able to get mine back to my dealer until then. I'll be making stops for several days in Ohio and Maine.

    Thanks Janice,
I talked to JD yesterday and today I got a call from both my dealer and a lady from Atwood. There is a heating element on the fridge that appears to be the problem and they are express shipping parts to the dealer for the repair. She wanted some basic information on what modes of operation we were using and what did we do to try and get it working again. I know that I have been doing quite a bit of complaining on the forum and I would like to apologize for that. I also believe that I have an obligation to post positive events as well. I have to give General RV in Huntley credit for working my camper in quickly and Janice and JD from GD for acting on this quickly. While it is frustrating to have issues it is great to know that there are people who are willing to listen and then put some plans into action to remedy the situation. Thank you again.
