Heading south next week from Cold Colorado
I just looked at the extended weather forecast as we are planning to head south next Tuesday. It doesn't look good. The plan was to get the rig out of the heated warehouse on Friday, load it up for 3 days and then roll out Tuesday morning. Because it's been in a heated warehouse, it wasn't winterized. It's got water in the tank and the lines. I could bring it home Friday afternoon and immediately winterize it. It's supposed to get really cold Sunday and Monday nights. I don't want to be driving if it's snowy or windy either so we may be delayed. Better safe than sorry.
What do you all recommend? What do I need to be thinking about? Thanks.Tom and Kathy

I don't know what I was thinking. Maybe I didn't think it would be really cold in early Dec. I wasn't thinking about the 2-3 days in the street, getting ready before hitting the road.
I probably will winterize. It doesn't get really cold til Sunday and it's pretty easy.Tom and Kathy

Maybe you could blow out all the water lines and drain the water tank and just before you go fill the tank. I blew out my water lines and left them open, I am planning on going south in Jan., I figure I can far enough south that it won't matter in 1 days travel. I will fill the tank the night before I leave it shouldn't freeze 60 gals over night but the water lines will be dry. Now coming back late Feb. could be a problem, haven't figured that out. I too will not go if there is snow on the roads.

Keep an eye and be careful out there.
I am in in the SW Corner and it is supposed to be Freezing Rain here and Snow starting Friday and through the weekend. If we get a good bit roads here at least will be iffy start of the week.
My Roommate was planning to visit some friends in Utah this weekend but is going to wait to another time with this system coming in for us.
Usually its worse a little farther north of us but just depends on which way you are heading South.Last edited by Sinabu; 11-27-2018 at 09:01 AM.
