Slide out Awnings
Hello again.
I'm thinking about installing a slide awning or topper on my trailer. I just want to make sure I'm measuring correctly. My slide from end to end is 117 inches. Since they make the slide awning in whole sizes my guess would be I would need a 120 inch or 10 foot awning. Installing looks like it should be not to difficult. Also just wondering what I should be looking at for a topper. I lippert or carefree etc. It looks like they are all pretty close in design, features, and price. I know lippert seems to have a good line up with the Solara series. I have dealt with Carefree awning with my old trailer. They all pretty much the same.
Thanks for the suggestions.

I have read that you should allow for 2.5 inches beyond each end of the slide edge, measure slide from edge to edge and add 5 inches.

If your slide flange to flange measurement is 117", then it calls for a 126" slide topper (Dometic A&E brand).
There is a conversion chart that they put out for the sizes.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

We just purchased a 315rlts. We asked to have all three slides covered with toppers. Both drivers side slides were covered, however the recliner slide could not be covered as the awning was installed to high

That looks great. What brand and size? I'm getting tired of cleaning off the tops of the slides every time I pull them in. I would do the install myself.
