    Sorry, I am late to this game. At my PDI I had the dealer demonstrate this function and they broke the handles off the valves. I have come to find in testing that if the slide is fully out, or fully in the valves seem to be under pressure and harder to turn. "Slightly" extending/retracting the slide makes them super easy to turn. YMMV.
