You all have some really nice cars. Mine isn't nearly that nice. It's a 1963 F100 I bought from a friend last winter. It's been in pieces for 15 years in his barn. I've replaced both cab supports and floor pans. Working on the door well area now as both sides had holes covered in Bondo. Plan on leaving it stock for most part and just enjoy driving it. Hopefully next spring it'll be on the road.

My grandmother was the original owner, she gave it to me for my 17th birthday. I then abused it like a teenage idiot and parked it around '88/'89 then it sat until around '94 when I started fixing her up. Took me forever, and still isn't done, but at least she looks good. Some day I need to finish the interior and she sorely needs a new engine.. some day I'll swap in a 302 with fuel injection, 5 speed tranny and a new rear end. I did all of the wrenching and helped with a good bit of the bodywork.

Originally the Mustang had 2 separate braces (left and right) from the firewall to each shock tower. When Ford started exporting the Mustang (as the T5) to Germany they added a one piece firewall to shock tower brace to stiffen the front end up better, hence "export brace". Ford also used the braces on the GT350s thanks to Carroll Shelby.

Not my car, brace runs from firewall to shock towers.

No, the 401 didn't come out until 1971 but it was just a stroked 390 so I put a 401 crank in the 390 block. Bigger is always better, right?
