I can add my name to the list of broken spring hangers on my 303. The passenger rear mount broke off. Not sure when it happened and drove around with it broken for a while...yikes. My repair isn't to elegant but I think effective. There is plenty of tire clearance. I reinforced the four corners but left the equalizer mount alone.

Love reading this thread after I just ordered a 303RLS......
I have a 2021 model coming. Do we know if the hangers are reinforced from the factory now? Or is the first thing I do with my new trailer is break out the welder?
Or are there just a few failures and this thread just making me feel like all the 303's are failing?

IMHO, just break out the welder and move on.

If you can weld, why not do it. One less thing to worry about. I believe Lippert even sells the “V” clips. But if you are welder, you most likely can fabricate your own.

Take a look at the thread I started awhile back for more posts... https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...ger-next-steps. There was some speculation that units with CorrectTrak were more prone to breakage because they were longer and had more flex; not sure if that system is used anymore. Bottom line, do upgrade your suspension somehow. The v-clips would be a minimum in my opinion. If you plan to actually travel in your unit, the stock suspension is reminiscent of a farm wagon and not adequate for today's speeds and road conditions.

Sounds like I'm going this way. Oh well, not a huge deal. I can do it in my driveway....but....I shouldn't have to. If it has been an issue for a while it should have been rectified.

You can apply that statement to just about anything involving a new RV. Look at it this is way, a new RV is about 90% complete when one buys it. Its up to the customer to finish the remaining 10%.

I'll add our 2018 303 to the list of failures. Happen on way home last spring. A thanks to Crabtree RV in Alma AR for getting me back on the road. Same hanger as Losthillsguy. Caught mind before it separated.

The thing I'm having a tough time understanding is....why mainly the 303? What is different? I would think (but don't know) that GD uses pretty much identical suspension systems on all similar weight units?

And minnow101, you are very much correct. we are just moving out of a fifth that we have had for 15 years. When I think back....I fixed a lot of stuff on that trailer.
