One version of this stuff contains alcohol. Be careful as the TPO will not handle petroleum based products.

As of right now there is no mold left and no damage to the sides or front cap. But the pants I was wearing when I did it had to be trashed..

Correct and that's why I was guessing that it's chlorine based.....which would not be a good product to use on the roof (or side walls) either. And if it were a chlorine based product it would have to have warnings.

"Trashed"? In which way? Acid? Chlorine?

I was just gonna use plain old Clorox diluted 1:4. Wouldn’t that be OK?

Ok I am working to refresh my memory on this topic. Contrary to what I received below the "Spray and Walk Away" does contain Ethanol and should not be used IMO. The 30 Seconds "Outdoor Cleaner" is bleach based. Here is the response I got back from them a while back. I also wrote Alpha but will need to see if I have more information back from them. Also attached are the MSDS sheets on these products.

    Hello Jim,

Correct, neither of our cleaners are petroleum based. We would recommend that you contact the manufacturer directly since you have that information, to verify with the whether or not our cleaners are compatible with their product.

For the 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner, the main active ingredient is Sodium Hypochlorite.
For Spray & Walk Away, the main active ingredient is alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride.

Hope that helps. If not, please let us know what additional information we can get to you.

    Thank you,

The procedure posted on this thread from Alpha lists bleach as the recommended cleaning agent where the directions call for the bleach to be brushed on the algae lines. I used no splash bleach and a very fine and soft brass brush to gently scrub it away after 10 minutes. I also followed up with the "Outdoor 30 Seconds Cleaner" over the entire roof without issues.

So i'm assuming this is the way to do it safely without future damage? My 2016 337rls is showing signs of it and I want to clean it when spring comes. Its too cold to get out and do anything right now, burrrr.

    Stimpack,

This is from Alpha. After hitting the trusses, I carefully applied the 30 seconds cleaner to the entire roof to not get it on the sides, then made sure to keep the sides hosed down when rinsing it away.
