    Wasps!

My better half (?) is staying at our seasonal lot while I slave away here at work. She called the other day saying she killed a wasp in the bedroom, and another in the bathroom, and asked if there was any way they could be getting in from the pin box. I said I didn't think so, but would take a look that night. Sure enough, there are some pretty large gaps between the pin box and body, and when I got there there were about a dozen wasps crawling in and around the front corner of the pin box.

After a half roll of duck tape to seal the gaps around the pin box, a can of wasp & bee spray, and one of those fake wasp nests, I am happy to report the wasps have moved on! And all without a single sting!

In hindsight, I should have hung some of the fake nests a lot earlier.

UPDATE... wife just called and the wasps are back.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the little buggers?

You need to get access to the nest after dark. Hose it down with one of the instant-kill sprays. Lily Miller used to have something they called "whack" that worked really well. If you do it after they are all in the nest, it will kill them, their eggs, and for a few days any others that visit the nest. Then seal everything up.

Ya sure do. Plug the holes. They can get thru tiny holes. We have them in the yard. My wife just came home with ultra kill wasp and hornet killer. It says to spray at sundown and works for days when they return. Sprays up to 20 feet. Sun still up-more on this in a few days

Steel wool keeps them out also. Much better than tape. Just stuff it into the holes.

Stainless steel or copper wool would be a better "no rust" choice.
Be careful with the wasp spray or foaming spray on painted surfaces.

Scotch-Brite scouring pads will work also.
