Norcold 2118 fridge problem

Hi All,
We have a 2018 Solitude 310gk with the 18 cubic ft. fridge. Last March we took it into our dealer bcuz it wasn't cooling. Door seal was repaired but that didn't fix it so they ended up replacing the cooling unit. Has worked fine (fridge 32 degrees, freezer 10 degrees) We are nearly home from a 5 wrk trip and the fridge isn't cooling well on setting 9 the fridge is running about 45 and freezer 20. We are very discouraged as our Solitude has been in the shop 12 weeks during the first year for a lot of repairs, not including the repairs my husband has done himself. Our 1 year warranty is up and we are not sure what will happen at this point. We are seasoned rvers, retired, but not full timers, just the two of us. We just don't believe that this beautiful fridge should be having problems like this when it is just over a year old. If you have experience like this we would appreciate any advice as to how we can get this resolved without breaking the bank. TIA

Hi. Look in your owners manual we’re it tells you what the warranty is on most things in your camper. We have a 2018 reflection fifth wheel with a Dometic refrigerator and it has a two year parts and labor from Dometic. You also may check to see if a new warranty was added for the work that was done earlier. Good luck

Check to make sure the flapper between the two doors isn't sticking.

We had the same frig in our Momentum and it would never fail when at the dealership - 14 to 19 degrees in the freezer and the ice cream was runny. Finally, one day it failed at the dealership and we got a new one installed. It was better, but wasn't a whole lot better! Traded for a Solitude with residential frig and it has been quite good - just can't boondock with no generator!

Have you considered a solar set up so you can boon dock without a noise generator?

While not an immediate solution to the problem, you might want to consider getting the extended warranty from Norcold on the refrigerator.
We bought a 2018 Solitude, and among the documentation was an envelope from Norcold , which gave an option to purchase an extended warranty, as long as it was done before the one year warranty expired.
I don't remember the exact terms, but as I recall there were several options.

We have Norcold in our 2016 Momentum and the refer has never kept cold, 40 in the refer, and 22 in the freezer. Out of warranty when we bought the trailer.

We have Norcold in our 2016 Momentum and the refrigerator was having a problem getting lower then 38* and the out side temp was 34*. I went round and round with Norcold and the dealer. I called Grand Design just before out regular warranty went out and GD made a few calls to Norcold and the dealer. Then GD shipped a new frig to the dealer, for them to install. It's been doing great since then.
We do have the extended warranty just in case it has more problems.
