Mine is taken from my woodworking hobby (although it is more what I want to do than what I'm actually doing).

Mine is easy. When my son was about 13, he told me (in front of a group of our friends) to "calm down big guy". I can assure you that my reaction was memorable --- one that my son will never forget. Anyway, the "Big Guy' moniker stuck in our family - they all refer to me as Big Guy and there is even a Big Guy sign on my office door. The 82 comes from my time in Vietnam and the US in the 82nd Airborne Division - it just sounded good after the BigGuy ...

webpilot. In the late 90s I went back to school to finish my college degree. Only took 34 1/2 years to get a college degree. At any rate, one of the classes was in web design. I also fly model airplanes, so I designed a web site for the RC flying club and got it hosted. The web site has been redesigned a couple of times, but I still pretty much maintain it these 20 years later. So I am a RC pilot and I fly the web , so webpilot.

I started playing computer games with my kids back in the mid 90's. We used to set up Local Area Network (LAN) parties at the house and the kids (we'll they are now 30, 28, 25, and 23) still hold LAN parties at their houses with friends. Most of the games they played were 1st person shooters, though Battlefield 1942 was a LAN favorite. The kids all had their nicknames and mine was COL because that's what a lot of their friends called me and I was at the time a Colonel. About the time I retired massively multiplayer online game (MMOG, or more commonly, MMO) started to be the main way everyone played so COLRetired became the moniker I used and it's stuck.
