    Outside Speaker Replacement

Has anybody replaced their outside speakers with a better sounding speaker? I was thinking some marine speakers might be better. Mine sound worse than a couple of tin cans on a string. Also the volume is very low compared to the ones inside but that could be because they are ten feet in the air. Am I the only one thinking that the placement up there doesn't make sense? I would prefer them mounted low so I can keep the radio volume low and not impose on my camping neighbors. I have a Bluetooth speaker I use now off my phone and that's great but there are times when the outside ones would be easier to use.

I wondered why they placed them so high as well. On our last 5ver, they were placed down low, at ear level when sitting outside. Let us know how your upgrade goes.

Just wondering if you ever replaced the speakers. I'm having a hard time finding decent speakers that are shallow enough to fit inside the wall.

I know this is an old thread, but i took one apart a little bit ago on my 15 303 and this is what I found. looks like it might be a bit of a challenge to replace them. the grille on the front side is separate from the rest of the housing, however you see the 4 plastic spot welds. thats whats holding the speaker in. Im thinking if i can find a speaker this size I can slip between the grill and the housing and cut it. then install the new speaker and glue it back together. not an ideal way of doing it if the speaker needs replaced down the road, but an idea. 2Click image for larger version.

Not related to replacing but on my 27RL the speakers were shorted out. I found the wires were not fully pushed into the connectors. And the connector wires were short and difficult to access as they were tucked up underneath the speaker housing.
