Looks like perfect solution for models and will have to remember the plywood option.

RC pilot here to for about the last 15 years. I like scale, and aerobatic airplanes, and also been having fun learning 3D aerobatics with helicopters.

Realflight is a great tool to learn and advance - especially when trying new and unfamiliar maneuvers. That reset button has saved me thousands of dollars, lol

The OP mentioned any RC events to attend. I attended the Joe Nall fly-in in Woodruff, SC. It is a must-do if you have any interest in RC aviation.. It has beautiful grounds, tons of camping available, and is just a ton of fun!

Been flying off and on for around 50 years. It would be great to get a few together at the National for some afternoon fun. There is usually plenty of room for foamies and park flyers on the west side of the fairgrounds. May have to look into getting a Class C event sanction for a funfly as it is government property. I am an AMA CD.

I tried RC flying. I crashed every time. I guess I'm to used to physical feedback from the stick/yoke and pedals. I have a friend that owns 3 fixed wing and two rotor aircraft, and is an instructor. I've got nearly 1,000 hours of stick time between both types of aircraft, just nothing that is documented for me to get my pilots license. Plus, a pilots license, aircraft maintenance, the air aircraft itself, insurance, etc., gets really expensive and fast!

    Resurrecting an old thread. . . . .

We just booked a week-long stay at the IAC in Muncie, Indiana for late May. Other than flying (which I hope to get lots in), anyone have any recommendations for things to do in the area? Thanks!

    Edit: correction to Indiana

I was there in I think it was October for the Scale Master Competition. I remember we were flying in 40° and damp conditions. As recall there wasn't much to do in town (unless it changed) the best thing to see was the AMA museum. That is a must see.

    What is IAC? Aerbatics?
