I'm not an RC pilot but I thought I would let you all know that there is an excellent RC airstrip located at the Chatfield State Park here in Colorado. This is located southwest of Denver.
We were camping at the park and I continued to hear what I knew must have been RC airplanes. Sure enough, across the road from the entrance to our camping site was the airstrip. It has a EW and NS runway as well as two helicopter pads. Nice covering for spectators and pilots.
I spent about an hour at the airstrip watching several pilots show off their skills.

We're wrapping up our 7-night stay here at AMA's IAC and I gotta say if you're an avid RC pilot and AMA member it's worth the trip. Average cost per night (pay for 6, get the 7th night free) was about $23 with full 50A, water, sewer and good wifi. There's 1100 acres of open space with multiple flying sites. I'm glad we stayed the entire week because the weather didn't cooperate for a few days, but I did get enough flying in. Saturday was a little crowded at the field next to our campsite so I drove a few minutes to another flying site and had the entire field to myself. Mid week we had the whole place to ourselves. Of course the museum is great. They were even nice enough to receive a package of mail for us.
I'm carrying 7 planes in our 310 (tucked in various nooks and crannies):
Hangar-9 RV-8
Hobbico Twinstar
Eflite Beaver
EZStar foamie
3 sailplanes (for when we get further west)
Muncie has all amenities, including a movie theater - we saw Top Gun on one of the rainy days. Nice bike trails are minutes away.

Just set up for a week of float flying at Sandy Point Campground in sunny southern BC (50.729000,-119.308000). Almost 1000' of beautiful sandy beach that is all ours. We usually expect 50 - 60 pilots and over 100 aircraft by the time the weekend rolls around.
I carry an assortment of planes with me. This trip I have:
my 1/3 scale Balsa USA Super Cub,
my e-Flight Carbon Z Cessna 150,
A Boomerang Elan (not on floats!),
an Apprentice
and a little 70mm EDF F18 Super Hornet.
We full time in our Solitude 374TH and love it.
