Awkward Garage Storage Bins In 394M?

Has anyone figured out what exactly the point behind these are?

I'm 6'2", and I just barely reach above that top crossbar. It's essentially a huge box on the top of the wall with an awkward front panel. I'm tempted to cut the crossbars off and add cabinet doors and a shelf... am I missing something, or are these just some really awkward design choices?

I have the same in my 395M. I'm only 5'7" so haven't used them anything as I'd have to get a ladder out. I had initially thought it might be for top bed on Happijac system, but that is out of reach also.

We keep a 3 ft step ladder with us and I can access those cabinets easily with it. We use one for all of our rain boots and the other for board and card games.

My better half had a small step stool for kitchen use in our old rig.... with the much higher ceilings in here, a small step ladder is on the agenda, 100%. I have also built a workbench in the garage (I do jewelry / silversmithing / leatherwork) so I can stand on that to get up there.

I just didn't understand their choice on the weird open front / single massive bin. I'll shelve and cabinet door them once the main set up in the new house is done, I guess. Wonder if I can actually get cabinet doors in the same wood 'finish'... hmmm.

    This is what we do.

It is storage. Obviously not stuff you need all the time but storage none the less.

I agree, they are kind of an odd cabinet. No doors or shelves, I've thought about making both, but making everything match might be a little tough.

No, I just wanted to show how I removed the cross pieces that was on the front. I had a local cabinet maker shop make the doors. My carpentry and wood working skills are not up to what I really wanted them to look like when finished. LOL.......a man's gotta know his limitations, so they say!

I know what you mean. I can make the door ok but getting it to match is the part I struggle with. I have a buddy that might be able to though, I'll have to be nice to him As much as these Momentums, cost you want them to look good.
