    Hydraulic fluid leak

I've never had a RV with hydraulic slides. The curb side slide would not move. I sprayed some WD-40 and let it sit for a day and it finally came in. I ran it in and out a few times then both slides just stopped. Went outside and saw hydraulic fluid all over the ground on the driver's side. I put fluid in the reservoir to get the slide in. Now I'm having problems with the stabilizers. Added more fluid to get them moving.

Are hydraulic leaks a common occurrence? I've only had the Solitude for 18 months. I have been parked with slides out for several months. Could this have any effect on the leak?

You may have a pin hole, or blown a hydraulic hose.... You need to trace the source of the leak. Then try to figure out why it happened.

    Hi Janice,

I did try my dealer and the earliest they could get me in was 3-4 weeks. I was supposed to be in Florida this week. It is at Camping World now. They could get me in now with only a 3 day wait. All the other dealers seem to have long back logs as well. I'm sure it is a pretty big leak. I had to use 8 quarts of fluid just to get my slides in and the stabilizers up and the landing pads back down to take it off my truck. Are these leaks common or am I just the lucky one? By now, I'm sure the underbelly has to be pretty saturated.

    Texas Joe,
I also had a hydraulic leak. Turned out one of my return hoses got caught in the slideout mechanism and cut the hose. It was correted by removing the underbelly, remove/replace the blown hose and the insulation. Bleeding air our out the system, and reinstalling the underbelly. However, I don't believe that leaks are common as you are the only other person that I have heard or read about with a hydraulic leak.
