Always Check before putting Slides Out!
Even if you didn't go anywhere!
With a Tornado warning in our area, we closed up our 303, gathered up the critters and our Go Bag and headed for the Clubhouse (tornado shelter). Heavy winds, but no tornado (at least not through our campground, others did get hit) . . . so, back to the trailer and opened up the slides. Didn't check around the slides like we always do after travel . . . because, hey, we didn't go anywhere. Apparently the wind shook the trailer enough to pop open an overhead cabinet at the back. (I am sure it was closed when I brought in the slide about 2 hours before). Minor damage, easy to fix . . . but a good reminder to always check, even if you haven't physically moved the trailer.

Good reminder Rob. One time we had a slide that lost a tooth on the gear drive. So one side went out faster than the other and the slide started going crooked. If I'd been watching carefully, I would have avoided damage. As it was, it tore the front of our stereo off our Cougar.

Glad it was minor damage. Never to many reminders to check those darn doors.
We have been watching the weather all morning and hoped you guys fared well. It looked like multiple warnings out your way and all around us, we didn't get any severe warnings. We have been getting inches of rain, gusting wind and at one point weren't sure if we were getting bombarded by acorns or hail. The Creek behind us is up to the banks and flowing fast!
We did develop our first leak in the bedroom slide, front corner and not sure of the cause just yet. Found a spot that had an open void where the outer wall is cut short of meeting the end molding. Put an emergency spot of Flex Glue on there but it didn't stop it. When it is dry out we'll investigate furtherand hope to pin point the water entry.
A broken pole on our eazy up type awning. We got the screen room collapsed before an damage therre.
For the moment the sky is getting lighter and only very light rain.Last edited by WhittleBurner; 12-20-2018 at 12:48 PM.

Ouch, Rob !.....but not too bad of an injury, thank goodness. While there have been a number of folks on the forum who posted slide/door/drawer unwanted contact, I suspect the instances of these mishaps is pretty high.
The other side of me thinks you may have done this by design to see what's behind that corner molding; give yourself some tinkering work to do; and yes, improve the product !
Good to hear no significant damage in your area due to these weather issues.....take care and stay safe to you all. Our local weather is talking about a southern move in the jet stream and thus a probable significant system coming after Christmas. It has been nice and sunny/light winds and high temps in the low to mid 40s for a couple weeks now.....nearly 20 degrees above normal. If the system next week it is a big event, I suspect it could spawn various types of weather issues in the southern states as every so often happens.

Hi Marcy - Just checked the same spot on our bedroom slide and the carpet is slightly damp. Hmmm . . . not sure if this is water coming in or because we brought the slides in and put them back out in the rain.
Crazy driving rain! Several inches of it . . . and I think that was hail, no oak trees close to us on this particular site to drop acorns.
The power to our fireplace has decided to go out. Nothing at the outlet where the fireplace plugs in. Don't know if this is water related or not. Always something to be fixing . . .

Check (feel) the back side of the bottom trim. It appears to have a central spot of entry on that side on ours. We are suspecting the seals around the slide rails.
The wetness is contained to the right edge piece a few inches in and is dripping off of that. We haad a nice half hour break and the dogs got a little needed relief outside. Now the rain is starting again and another round of storms coming tonight. But it beats the hell (am I allowed to say that ) out of 3 feet of snow all this rain would translate to at home.
I'm sure you'll get the power to the fireplace back up soon.Last edited by WhittleBurner; 12-20-2018 at 01:05 PM.

Brief tornado touch down about 10 miles from us . . . but with a storm track that was aimed right at us . . . yikes!
Close enough for us "northerners"!
