Electric skillet vs camp stove vs induction burner vs ???

Kris and I are just getting ready to stock the camper with all the essentials when we pick it up next week. We have an electric frypan and an old Coleman two burner camp stove, and I'm always looking for new ideas to what I call "reduce the hassle factor". Electric frypans seem easier to me than using the camp stove, but what about other ideas? Has anyone used the induction cooktop burners, and would you recommend them? What are you all using when you cook outside instead of on the stove top in the camper?

We also figured we would buy a new small grill for steaks, fish, etc, maybe something like the WeberQ. Any personal preferences for small grills that you really like?

    Thanks All,

    Paul

I am a bit old fashion but we cook 95% of everything outdoors. I have a 2 burner camp chef stove with a single burner griddle and a single burner gill box for steaks and fish. It is a little cumbersome but it's a great set up that allows me to cook most anything for up to about 4-5 people. I even bring a dutch oven for goodies!!

We use an induction burner (NuWave). I love using it. I use it inside the camper and outside.

We have an electric griddle I use to cook breakfast outside. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, and even toast are easy on the griddle and easy clean up.

I do the same! I bought a large electric skillet and I can cook about anything in it. I especially love it when the grands are with us because it will fit a lot of food at once. I also have a crockpot which is handy.

I still love my Camp Chef stove and cooking out side under the ez up. Also when time permits I like to use my Dutch Oven.
I do keep a crock pot packed and use it as well, especially when it's soup weather. This year I added a 4 qt pressure cooker thinking it would be great for fast meals
    when we're on the road.

Weber Q here and we use it every trip. Crock pot is the only other thing we use. Made Easter dinner for 6 at the camp ground a couple of years back in the crock pot. Was yummy. We used to have an outside kitchen in the old rig, only made corn on the cob, hot mulled wine (it was -20c at the time) and warmed up some stuff for thanksgiving dinner on it. Not 100% sure the old Coleman will make it in this rig. I want it but DH does not appear to interested yet.

Between a crock pot and an electric skillet, we seldom even cook inside other than reheating in the microwave.

With a 2 burner cooktop, the OEM gas grill and a microwave in the outside kitchen of our 323BHS, I don't see cooking inside except on rainy days.

Come to think about it, we seldom cook inside when at home--cooking most meals outside on a gas grill year round.

    Renee,

We've seen a couple with a 9" or 10" pan, so that seems to be the limiting factor, as much as we know about them. We've never used one, so we have no idea how well they work. Do you know what the maximum pan size is for your induction burner?

    Thanks for your feedback,

    Paul

I'd like to thank everyone who ha provided their feedback so far. It's been very helpful. I don't want to over analyze what we should pack, but I do know it is always very helpful to gather feedback from others about what works well for them and see if we can glean any ideas we haven't thought of yet. We'll likely not get too many new things yet, until we gather more of your feedback and do a few trial weekends to get the hang of "life in a 5th wheel". We are so much looking forward to it and if everything goes right, we should be launching on our maiden 5th wheel voyage the third weekend of August, a "shakedown" weekend to learn more about it!!

    Thanks all,

    Paul
