First set of Mods on 297 RSTS

With some nice warmer weather the last couple of days here in Ontario, 10C or 50F last Friday I decided it was time to change the bathroom sink and faucet as well as the Kitchen sink.

These were both things that DW wanted changed. She didn't like the tiny sink in the bathroom when we bought and liked it even less after our maiden voyage to Florida for a couple of week. She was also not too sure about the large single sink in the kitchen. She tried it and didn't like it. She likes the dual sink with one side for washing and one side for rinsing so replaced this as well as promised. Also added a toothbrush holder that she wanted. Easiest part of the job too!!

Got both sinks on Amazon for a really good price and bought the tap on sale at Canadian tire.

All went really well including having to redo the drain plumbing to match the sink drains. DW is really happy with the results which is the most important thing.

Now just thinking about the next set of mods. I think a slideout topper for the living room slide is next on the list. Wish I had room for one on the kitchen slide but with the awning there and it nearly touching the slideout don't think there is room.

    Enjoy the picks.

    Happy New Year to everyone.
    Rob

Nice job, Rob. Well done on the before and after pics, too.

My DW wants the faucet replaced in the bathroom. One more thing on my "To Do" list.

    Thanks Howard,

On my Rockwood I would always have to open up the taps and lubricate the o-rings with plumbers silicone because they would start to squeak after a little while. Just figured I didn't want to be doing that in the 297 so while I had the mess replaced the tap. No more squeaks to annoy me, at least not from the bathroom tap.

Dang you Rob. Now I need to find out how to hide this so the Mrs. doesn't see it. Nicely done.

Nice job. How did you cut the hole larger for the bathroom sink?

I used the sink upside down to outline the shape making sure the new sink would cover the old sink hole as well as the old tap holes, then I traced inside the sink trace by 5/16" for the cut hole. Used the jig saw with a nice new sharp blade to cut out the new hole? A bit of a mess but nothing that the vacuum and a damp cloth wouldn't clean right up.

Nice! I really like the double sink. Was it a direct replacement? Can you post a link to the Amazon page?
Also, do you happen to have any pics of the kitchen sink drain plumbing?

    Thanks!

    Hi William,

Here is the link on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/SINOGY-Handma...6+kitchen+sink
It is a direct replacement for the one in my 297. I didn't take pictures of the plumbing and the trailer is back in storage. In a couple of weeks when I go back to get it I can take some pictures.

    Very good job Rob.
I think the most important take away I get from this is a happy wife. This makes the world a much nicer and safer place for all.
