Frozen
Hi all! Tell me if I am looking at this right. 315tsrl and hot water froze this am do to a brain fade. I turned the hot water by pass off and the water came out of the hot side of the facet. I opened pressure relief valve on hot water tank and a little water came out, but the pump never came on. So that means its frozen line is between the by pass valve and the fill on the hot water tank. Correct? Thanks ! Scott

I believe this is a good assumption. There should be a panel inside to access the back of the water heater.

Scott - You should be able to get some heat into that area by turning on the furnace. I wonder if that would be enough to thaw it out?

(Sorry, I've got grandkids so the link is the first thing that came to mind. You're going to hate me, lol.)
On a serious note, I'm confused--when you write "hot water bypass off" is the red knob pointing vertical or horizontal? (If horizontal it is stopping water from entering the water heater--the pump should not come on when the relief valve is actuated.)
With the red knob vertical (water flows to the hot water tank) the pump should turn on when the relief valve is actuated. (You'll get wet, too.)
Remember to be careful and do NOT rotate any of the Nautilus' knobs with pressure in the system.

Everyone the hot water pipe unthawed . What I was saying was when I close the red valve by turning it sideway . The hot water facet in the tt would flow cold water out of the holding tank. That tells me that all the lines in the tt are open. When I shut the bypass off...Straight up and down the pump shut off. So I went and opened the hot water pressure relief on the hot water tank ,only a little hot water came out of the pressure relief valve and the pump never came on. So I think that if the blockage was after the hot water heater, the pump would have come on. Since it did not. I think it was between the hot water bypass valve and the hot water heater. Because if I removed some water from the hot water heater. The pump should have come on and tried to refill the hot water heater . Correct?
