I noticed the same slight "bubble" appearance on my tires. Our local tire shop checked them and assured me it was normal. He even took me over to my truck to show me that, if I looked close, the truck tires (American made) would have the same condition. Sure nuf, they did. I have over 7000 miles on our Westlakes and so far no problems (knocking on computer table).

I don't have a pic but it's not normal. The bubble appeared in a spot where the tires got some curb rash. It sticks out about 3/4". I priced some Firestone Transforce and Bridgestone Duravis today. 245/75/16 transforce is $914.93 for 5 and the duravis is $1123.73 for 5 mounted and balanced. They priced me the Duravis R500 instead of the R250 though. A little miscommunication. The Transforce has good reviews on 5ers from the info I've gathered on the web.

I'm considering these wheels http://www.etrailer.com/Tires-and-Wh...a/AM22689.html they have a +5mm offset. Will they be ok?

I would check with Lippert on the offset. The manufacture of our last 5th wheel had a big warrenty issue when one year they installed a bunch of offset wheels which caused a lot of bearing failures. Fortunately, ours wasn't one of them. If I had to use an offset wheel, I would be inclined to go with a negatve offset to put the added stress on the larger inner bearing.

I very often read of OEM tire failures on fifth wheel trailers--sometimes daily. And damages from floppy tire belts can be very expensive to fix. The owner of a very popular RV website recently had tire problems on his personal fifth wheel trailer.

I've replaced my new 323BHS tires with Duravis R250 rib tires--235-85-16's @ $195 each at Costco. It's just not worth the risk and potential frustration to run the original tires.
It's very important to have a good quality dial style tire gauge, and to use it daily. I carry an air tank to top off my tires.

I sent an email to GrandvDesign to see what size tires I could use and this is the response I got.

Hi Tracey' **you could use a st235/80R16LRE **BUT THAT IS FOR A 8 LUG WHEEL WHICH MEENS YOU WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR HUB BRAKES BACKING PLATE WHAT EVER ETC. *TO USE A 16 IN. TIRES *JW

Im confused as to why I would have to go to a 8 lug wheel to upgrade. I guess I'll need to call them.

I believe our 337 rls has the same size tire on a 6 lug wheel. Only the Solitudes have 8 lug wheels.

I changed out my 15in to 16in a few months back. Got rims at e-trailer, 16in, 0 offset (which is recommended) 6.5 in width so I could use either the 225/75 or 245/75 tires. The 225/75 is same diameter as the factory tires, the 245/75 is 1.2 inch larger, equating to just a little over 1/2 inch taller. The lug pattern is 6 x 5.5 as stated in earlier posts. I have the 2014 303RLS.

My bad, I did not put on trailer tires, but went with LT tires. Firestone TransForce HT. Get good reviews on forums.
