A/C fan cycles off and on

We have a dometic a/c. The fan is cycling on and off at 30 second to 5 minute intervals. The compressor keeps running. We are pulling 15 amps, have 120 volts. Temp outside is 85. Thermostat set at 75. Fan runs for a minute or so, shuts off for a couple seconds.

Ideas? We are on the road.

    Thanks

Update.... We switched the fan from auto to low and fan seemed fine. Then switched fan to high. Still running OK. Compressor is working so we are cooling. We'll probably try the fan on auto once it cools down outside.

From the looks of this campground it will be too smokey to open windows tonight. Will move further north tomorrow or Monday, and will call Grand Design on Monday.

Another update. Fan is fine on either hi or low. According to the Domestic thermostat manual when in auto it switches between hi and low when there is a 5 degree difference from the set temperature. We were at the 5 degree mark, thus the frequent switching.

Question remains... Is it normal for the fan to shut off for a couple seconds when switching automatically between hi and low?

    2Hams,

I had that problem with our bedroom unit and come to find out it is not vented in the overhead venting. You may need to make sure yours is vented correctly or not blocked. You can search the forum and there are other post on AC issues that may help. I opened the louvers to blow into the bedroom and it fixed the problem. I also set the thermostat in the bedroom to 72 and living room to 70. The bedroom air only comes on in the heat of the day. Hope this helps. Happy Camping.
