No signal in bedroom

I've been trying to get satellite in bedroom. I am not getting any signal. It is not receiver as I'm getting good signal in front room. It's as if there is a degradation from basement to bedroom. Any thoughts? I'm pretty handy with fixing things but this one has me confused.

Found the problem.....I took my modelers magnifying glasses and checked coaxial cable fitting (in the basement) There were strands of fine mesh braid wrapped around the wire in the middle of cable- which was causing a short. Relief!
