Water Pump Runs every 30 to 65 minutes.

I am curious if anyone has a water pump that cycles every 30 to 65 minutes, even though nothing is turned on. We have a 2015 305RE, which this happens to. I have checked all connections that were exposed, checked all valves, checked for leaks underneath the unit, but the pump still runs as noted above. Any and all thoughts would be appreciated.

We used to have this happen in our previous trailer, the fix was to burp the air out of the water heater by cracking the pressure valve outside a bit.

Mine does it once in a while, but like Derek and Tatjana state above, it's quite often due to trapped air. When I am dry camping and using the pump, I bleed the air out of all the faucets and water heater. That usually takes care of it.

Is the pump only running a second or two when it comes on? Another possibility is the check valve on the suction side of the pump is leaking by causing the system to lose pressure. The check valve maintains prime to the pump so you have water flow instantly and also prevent the filling of the FW tank when on city water. I haven't had the pleasure to change one but have heard that's it's a fairly easy job once you've accessed the pump.

We had this occur at times with past RV when there was air in pipes. My worrying would send my DH on many a wild goose chase looking for leaks. I finally believed his explanation-and there was peace with me and the pump and my husband!

The pump runs, usually around 5 to 6 seconds. I will be trying the, " BURP ", on the hot water heater and where ever else I can and report back. I may end up taking the advice of Knshook, and not worry, as long as nothing is leaking.

If the problem persists after that, you can have the techs figure it out at the rally.

Did the burps, and nothing has changed. I still did not find any leaks. I think I will wait for the rally like Dave advised. We are looking forward the rally, hopefully will be a variety of venders there.
