Since the thread was from way back in 16...lol I was wondering if anything new has surfaced to remove the rings. I had a leaky connection in my house and found a GOOD pair of side cutters worked best because of the angle i was up against. Did I mention I love plumbing projects, awesome job @Cate&Rob

a flat head screwdriver can do the trick. just put it under the excess part of the clamp and twist.....unlocks it....

I just ordered this on Amazon and it has the clamp "uncrimper" built in. I plan to use this for my plumbing changesiCrimp PEX Cinch Tool with Removing Function)

I used my Dremel with a cutting wheel across the crimp which releases the pressure, then a needle nose to pull it off the Pex. The cordless Dremel got me into the tight space with little effort.

Believe it or not, these worked well to remove the pex clamps by grabbing onto the clamp ear and peeling back.
