Solitude 374TH - Our door keeps popping open during travel

Does anyone else's entry door come unlatched during travel? To keep it fully closed we have to lock the deadbolt. We do close the grab bar over the door so there is no way it can actually open of course.

Why wouldn't you lock the deadbolt when traveling?

I can only report that we've not had that issue. But, then, we lock up everything possible when traveling.

Sounds like the door needs adjustment, is the gap even all the way down between the door and the jamb?
We also travel with an unlocked door and it doesn't open in transit.

We had our door adjusted twice during warranty for the same reason: Door would open during travel. Also, if the RV was not really level, the door could be hard to open and close. Finally the dealer admitted the only way to resolve the travel problem was to lock *and* use the deadbolt. We always engage the deadbolt now and the door has been secure while traveling ever since.

We didn't have this problem on our last trailer, which was only 30'. Maybe the extra 5 feet on our Solitude creates additional flexing that the main latch lock just can't handle. . .

Just remember to engage the deadbolt before travel and you should be fine.
