    My Ford F-350 has a 400W 120V inverter built into the dash and rear console. I charge my Inergy Apex on travel days or when we are visiting a national park for the day. I don't use it exclusively for the RV, but easy option to run TV or recliner in our 2930RL for the night and even help recharge 12V lead acid batteries. I have a couple of Sunpower panels to use with the built in MPPT regulator in the Apex. Yes a permanent solar set up might be cheaper, but the Apex gives me lots of flexibility without the noise of my Ryobi generator since the 2930RL burns through the two 12V batteries quickly when dry camping or around the house.

    Build the exact same thing yourself using higher quality components for half the cost.
