Bike Rack suitable for fifth wheel

I’m finding that not every bike rack is suitable for use on a fifth wheel. I’m looking for a 2-bike Rack. Also I’m seeing some are $500.[emoji33].
Prefer those that either have a platform or slot to support the tires, not one where the bikes hang. We had a bike rack years ago but never one for a 2” receiver so I know nothing. Is there a need for an extension so it is not an issue with the ladder?

We carry two e-bikes that are about 50 pounds each. We approached carrying them a little differently. Instead of a bike rack, we elected to use a cargo carrier. I'm attaching a link below to the one we purchased. It has a 500# capacity which exceeds the 300# capacity of our 2017 receiver hitch. We simply place the bikes on the rack, and then strap them in place with ratchet straps. A nice feature is that you can fold the rack up when not in use. So far, it's worked very nicely for us.

This Swagman RV bike rack has served us well for 3.5 years and over 30,000 miles:

We carry two comfort bikes that are not lightweights.

Edit/PS: if the rack still comes with the bumper clamp, throw it away! Nothing should ever be clamped to an RV bumper. We use our rack in a frame-mounted receiver.

We have a 4 bike carrier from Recon Rack. We purchased this one after our Swagman RV ready rack nearly dumped 4 bikes on CA interstate 5. The recon is built like a tank and we've had good luck thus far.

Just added a photo of the recon rack for reference. It's made to support up to 6 down hill bikes.

We’ve put almost 20,000 miles on our Swagman Dispatch two bike rack, with no issues or concerns. It’s been rock solid. My wife once followed me for 600 miles and observed how stead the Swagman was compared to the other brands that she saw other people using.

I'll second Rob's vote for the Swagman XC2, it's been bullet proof.

Kuat makes one of the nicest receiver racks I've used, you can get it with a repair stand as part of it, it is secure and has a tapered mechanism that tightens the drawbar to the hitch receiver so it doesn't wobble, it folds up and drops down to get in the hatch on an SUV,take a look at the website

We are planning on getting one of these. I think we saw it mentioned favorably on this forum somewhere...

If buying a bike rack, you MUST download and read the manual for each model from each manufacturer before buying. It is the only place where you can find out whether there are exclusions for use on an RV. Almost all DO have an exclusion. Swagman has a couple of models that are RV rated, Yakima has one, and as I just learned in this thread, recon-racks.

For example, above was mentioned Kaut racks. For at least one of their models (NV 2.0) the manual says: "• Do not use this product on a recreational vehicle or trailer."
