USB ports on 2019 303RLS

Our new (2019) 303RLS fifth wheel has 2 usb ports in the underside of the upper hutch in the kitchen, and 2 in the underside of the shelf over the head of the bed. Neither works when not on shore power. Is this standard? I was hoping for cell phone charging capability when not connected to shore power. Has anyone found these to work when not on shore power?

Just took delivery of a new 303 and didn’t realize that. I’ll have to check them out. If that’s the case I’m rewiring mine.

We have a 26RL, and only 2 USB ports in the bedroom. It runs on 12V so they work when not on shore power. As long as the batteries hold out. Sorry, don't know if it's the same for yours.

Should work on battery power. Confirm the battery power switch is on.

Checked again after reading your replies and they worked on 12v today. I’m sure I haven’t been discconecting the battery so not sure what happened. I did use a different cord, maybe I have a bad one. Thanks so much for the replies.

I've been adding them around the rig. Anywhere the is unswitched power can take a USB outlet like this one

Our USB ports work on shore power as well as just 12v. 2018 303

I'm putting one like that in my pass through next to the light. I want the lighter plug for an air compressor.

I don't think the switch or covers will be useful inside the rig.

I put one of the 4 port ones under my radio, which is by the door, ideal for phones. I'll probably put some by the bed lights (that have a switch on them) because the center port makes cords dangle in our face.
