We started with a topper first few months fulltime in the 303 and that did not go well. I need a firm support with a soft top so I went to Mattress Insider online and had a custom Sedona mattress ordered in 9” thick with radius corners to make getting around bedroom easier in the 303. With the topper I had purchased for the stock bed made for wonderful no back pain sleeping going on 2nd year. It came in a special rolled box that made bringing it in and setting it up super easy.

We just purchased our 2020 Grand Design Solitude 310GK, first night was awful on the bed. I have had firm mattress before but this one is too firm. We purchased a memory foam topper, I hope it helps.

We bought the memory foam topper and it did the trick. Firm but cushy with the memory foam. Slept the whole week just great....love those windows by the bed.....

Has anybody done this or have any suggestions?

Some people have actually cut them in half in order to get them in the rig. Not wanting to take that on right now.
There was no way we were able to sleep on the factory mattress so we bought a hybrid (springs and foam) mattress that added 100# to or 2930RL. We had it delivered and those 2 young guys got it to where it needed to be. Sleeping is no longer a problem and the added weight shouldn't be either for our situation. Good Luck and Happy Camping.

Try a "Bed in a Box". We have bought two of them. They are just as comfy as a Temperpedic.

I will second Mattress Insider as a good source for a mattress. We purchased a mattress for our previous rig and was very happy with the mattress, the customer service and the packing of it which made it super easy to get into our truck camper at the time. When we purchased our Solitude 310GK-R in January, the dealer had a $100.00 off on any mattress they sold, plus removed the old one and set up the new one. We liked and selected, of course their most expensive one which is similar to the Tempurpedic we had in our house and loved. The mattress has been very comfy, until recently for my wife who has had some physical challenges of late and now is exacerbating those challenges, so we are in the market again. Since we had such a good experience with Mattress Insider, we are likely to grder from them again. I like your idea of getting the custom Sedona with the radius edges and likely go that route. My wife had also suggested the Sleep Number and I see so many have liked it, my only comment is it would seem the Sleep Number is better suited for a couple with two different sleep comfort needs and outside of the typical RV rocks pawned off as mattresses, I am pretty adaptable so whatever suits my wife has and will worked for me. Will explore it a bit further,
