2018 311BHS flat springs
Hello, Well I have not seen a post on the 311BHS yet referring to the flat springs. First the Unit is really over weight empty. 6K lippert axles, GD stated UVW at 11228, sticker on unit. Really weighs 11928 empty. 20 percent on the pin, 2385. 3357 capacity left on axles. How hard to make a 12000 lb unit have enough Axel capacity to carry the whole unit! Not skirting the law with "some is on the TV". Well, lets add water, propane, and it is getting close. I am putting on disc brakes because the 7K Dexter brakes that GD paid for when the Lipert get greased up, don't really work well. I installed the Dexter brakes, GD paid for the parts under warranty. Two street side leaf springs are found to be near flat. WTH.
Ordered 4 new 3500 lb springs. 7K a set cap. IMO GD is really cutting the weight Cap. close on this unit. I will strengthen the spring hangers while under there. I have to remove the coroplastic anyway to weld. So a new electric line for the washer dryer going in.....Will post more and pics soon..Last edited by phonemannn; 03-25-2019 at 08:18 AM.

Hello, new to the forum. Any updates to this post? Does anyone else have a similar experience. We are shopping for RVs and the 311bhs is at the top of our list. hoping others will weigh in on pros and cons to this unit, whether they like or dislike. Thanks.

Hello again. Got new disc brakes installed. New 8K springs, new moreride spring hangers, New wet bolt kit. WOW what difference in stopping. No more wondering if the brakes are going to work. Also welded 3 inch channel across the spring mounts/brackets. Will be in Las Vegas at the get together in march, look forward to meeting some of you. Pictures asap....

Did you get new 7k axles, or just the springs.
Re-pack bearings necessary?
